Good Economy, Bad Economy – Which One Is It?

Over the weekend I received an e-mail alert from MoveOn.org. Yes, quite some time ago I signed up to receive "alerts" from them. I think it's instructive to see what the enemy is up to – what they are thinking and what they feel is important. Plus, they are fun to read.

And yes, they are the enemy. Any person, group, or army that attempts to destroy our freedoms and dismantle the Constitution is the enemy – whether the means to that end is bullets, court order, or "Executive Action," the end will be the same.

The alert was written by the Mussolini midget, Robert Reich, Bill Clinton's Labor Secretary and a socialist. What does Reich want? What every leftist wants: money and power – and lots of both.

And why do they need it? Well, he says, "… we have to stop the Senate takeover that is being predicted by today's major pollsters and pundits." Of course he means a "Republican takeover," and by "takeover," he means that they have no right to be in charge. That's the sole domain of the Democrats.

And why is this important? Well, before I tell you that, let me remind us all of what Barack Obama exclaimed in a speech he gave at Northwestern very recently.

"It is indisputable that our economy is stronger today than when I took office. But every economic measure, we are better off now than we were when I took office."

The new Republic was quick to say that, "No one would argue with that statement."

Okay, everyone got that?

Back to the MoveOn alert where Mr. Reich says, "Simply put: America's economy is in bad shape and were all in deep trouble."

Wait… What?! So which one is it? I'm so confused!

Reich continued: "It's been six years since the start of the Great Recession, and yet there's no recovery in sight for the vast majority of Americans. Americans' vaccine lost ground since the 'recovery' began in 2009."

Well, that's not good. It seems like he's blaming Obama, but no – that's not it. He explains that he's "worried. Honestly, I'm beyond worried at this point – I'm downright embarrassed we've let it get this bad. How did we get here? 'Trickle down' economics."

So now it's not Obama's fault, nor even Bush, but Reagan? And by the way, there is no "trickle down" economy. What there was of it has been replaced with "trickle down cronyism."

So is this a fracturing of some on the left? Is Reich throwing Obama under the bus?

No, of course not. That's the great thing about being a leftist. They get to live in the moment. One day you can say the sky is falling and the next say everything is great and your idiot followers, including the press, will never question you or conclude that you're lying about one or the other.

All we have to know is that we have a stronger economy under five years of Obama and the only way to save us from this bad economy is to elect Senate Democrats.

If you're confused or your head hurts, you're a conservative.
